The All-on-4 Second Visit: Getting Your Final Teeth Explained

The short answer

Full-arch implant treatment usually involves two trips. On the first, your implants are placed and you receive a fixed temporary bridge the same day. After three to six months of healing at home, you return for the second visit to receive your permanent bridge — typically zirconia. This second trip is shorter, around three to five days, and involves taking final impressions, a try-in to check fit, shade and bite, then fitting and fine-tuning the definitive bridge. There is little or no surgery, so it is an easy visit. Taki Dent schedules both trips and coordinates the months in between.

Why is there a second visit at all?

Full-arch treatment is staged for a good reason. After surgery the implants need three to six months to fuse with the bone before they can carry a permanent, full-strength bridge. During that time you wear the immediate temporary bridge fitted on day one — so you are never without teeth.

Once integration is complete, the temporary is replaced by the definitive bridge designed to last decades. That replacement is what the second visit is for, and it is why the treatment cannot honestly be finished in a single trip.

What happens during the second trip?

It is a sequence of comfortable, mostly non-surgical appointments. The temporary comes off and precise final impressions or digital scans are taken of the integrated implants. The lab builds your zirconia bridge, and you attend a try-in to confirm the fit, shade, tooth shape and bite all feel right — your chance to request adjustments. The final bridge is then fitted, the screws torqued, the access holes sealed and the bite fine-tuned. You leave with your permanent teeth.

Because there is little or no surgery, recovery is minimal and you can largely enjoy your time there.

How long does the second visit take?

Typically three to five days, allowing for impressions, lab time, the try-in and final fit with a buffer for any adjustments. It is markedly shorter and easier than the first trip. In the months between the two visits, healing and routine checks can be handled with your own UK dentist using the clinic's protocol, and the clinic stays in contact to confirm you are ready for the final fit. The whole staged approach is standard, safe and the reason the end result is so durable.

Frequently asked questions

Why can't All-on-4 be done in one trip?

The implants need three to six months to fuse with bone before carrying a permanent bridge. You wear a fixed temporary in between, so you are never without teeth.

Is the second visit painful?

No — it involves little or no surgery. It is mostly impressions, a try-in and fitting the final bridge, so recovery is minimal.

How long is the second trip to Turkey?

Usually three to five days, allowing for impressions, lab time, a try-in and the final fit with room for adjustments.
