What qualifications should the treating dentist hold for full-arch implants?
In Turkey, as in the UK, any registered dentist may legally place implants — but full-arch reconstruction is specialist territory. The two specialisms that matter are prosthodontics (the design and fit of the bridge, which determines how the arch looks, bites and lasts) and oral surgery or implantology (the surgical placement). The strongest clinics put a specialist prosthodontist in charge of the overall plan and treat surgery as one stage within it.
Ask for the treating clinicians' names and specialty titles in writing, then check them: Turkish specialists hold a university specialty diploma, and their titles ("Uzman", "Dr. Dt.", "Prof. Dr.") are verifiable. A clinic that will not name the clinician before you travel should not make your shortlist.
Why does CT-guided planning matter when choosing between All-on-4 and All-on-6?
The entire All-on-4 vs All-on-6 decision rests on three-dimensional bone data: volume, density and the position of the sinuses and nerve canals. A two-dimensional panoramic X-ray cannot supply that, so a clinic that quotes you a definitive procedure without a CT (CBCT) scan is guessing. Which implant brands should a full-arch clinic work with?
Brand is not everything, but it is a proxy for two things that matter: documented long-term survival data and worldwide component availability. Premium systems such as Straumann and Nobel Biocare publish decades of clinical evidence and can be serviced by dentists in the UK if you ever need a part replaced at home. Reputable mid-range systems (for example Osstem or Medentika) are also widely supported. What you want to avoid is an unnamed or obscure system that no UK practice can source parts for.
Ask the clinic to name the implant system in your written quote, together with the bridge material (acrylic on titanium, monolithic zirconia, and so on). If the quote says only "implant", make the clinic commit before you compare prices — the same headline figure can hide very different hardware.
What should a written guarantee cover for All-on-4 or All-on-6?
A serious full-arch guarantee is written, signed and specific. Insist on itemised, like-for-like quotes. A meaningful full-arch quote states the number of implants, the implant brand, the temporary bridge, the final bridge material, all imaging and consultations, sedation if used, and the guarantee terms — plus whether transfers and accommodation are included. Once quotes are itemised, most price gaps turn out to be hardware or material differences rather than generosity.
